You Know Who You Look EXACTLY Like?
By: Greg | July 23rd, 2007
While farting around trying to look for something worthwhile to write for my six faithful readers, I was checking up on the big name transfers from earlier on this summer. I decided to see what each new team had written up for them or if they had even had them as a part of the team roster on the website yet.
So first I pointed the browser at the Manchester United website to take a gander at the two big moves that got the virtual talent raping of the Portuguese League underway… I made it a mere two clicks until I found something extremely interesting. The first team section of the ManU website “advertises” Anderson and has a tease of his write up. Seeing as I will NOT allow myself to be teased, I decided to click on it and see what they had said about his game and any mentions to his career in the Portugueseian Liga.
The headline starts “Dubbed the new Ronaldinho, Brazilian wonder kid Anderson completed his move to Old Trafford in July 2007.” Okay, usual gratuitous use of “wonder kid” clearly to get the fans all in a tizzy for their new winger, but nothing out of the ordinary here. It continues… “There is a striking resemblance between Anderson and international superstar Ronaldinho, not only in terms of looks. Like Barcelona’s attacking” whaaaa? Wait a second. Did that just really say “striking resemblance between Anderson and…Ronaldinho, not only in terms of looks“? Yeah. It did!
At first I laughed hysterically for about forty-five seconds at this ridiculous statement. Then I thought to myself, “Does whomever collaborated on this write up really think that since they’re both dark skinned and have longer hair that they look alike?” And if that’s the case, isn’t that in some way ignorant and/or borderline racist? Far be it from me to be over sensitive or even sensitive at all for that matter, but how in the hell can someone say these guys REMOTELY look like one another, forget bearing “a striking resemblance”? Instead of writing about how ridiculous this is and accusing someone of being a racist and getting all upset over it, I’ve decided to run my own little photo editorial of players who also bear a striking resemblance both in position, looks, and nationality…
Separated at birth? England defenders John Terry and Jamie Carragher have the fans clamoring for paternity tests at every match they play.

They rotated dating the same girls in high school and their significant others never found out! Those cheeky Brazilian goalkeeper lookalikes, Dida and Helton!

Joao Moutinho once replaced Cristiano Ronaldo at CR7’s family Christmas dinner…and they didn’t even know it wasn’t their beloved little Crissy! Here’s the aforementioned Portuguese midfielders side by side…

I’ve given up on giving transfer rumors a daily dusting simply because I’ve been upset with the nature of some of the information I’ve been getting from websites NOT called A Bola or O Jogo. I was considering moving all transfer rumors for the remainder of the season to a once a week thing rather than a daily smattering of crap that never materializes. I’d love to see Adu there, it’s a great place for him to ply his trade and get some higher level competition.

Not one bit, not one bit, not one bit.
Haha, sorry Greg, I can’t see any resemblance.Posted from

So, wait, Sam. You mean to tell me that simply being from the same country and playing the same position doesn’t mean that you look alike? What a WEIRD concept.

Hi Greg
You now have 7 faithful readers (lost a bet to my wife).
What your forgetting is that the author was probably a brit and to them we all look alike. All as in somebody who doesn’t have a pasty near death, lacking any blood in your body, complexion.
So when you look at them that way, yes CR and Anderson are virtual twins. hahaPosted from
