Portugal Offside’s Player of the Year Is…
By: Greg | June 5th, 2008Lisandro Lopez, Forward, FC Porto. Period. End of discussion.
This one for me was a no-brainer. This past season, he shred defenses to the tune of twenty four domestic goals. On a team filled with so many attacking options, he managed to score as many times as the next four goal scorers behind him (Quaresma 8, Sektioui 6, Farias 6, and Meireles 4). He was a man among boys and with Quaresma saying he’s ready to leave, he’s going to be even more prominent in Porto’s attack next year.
Check varied YouTubage below, spanning a lot of his career till now. I know I featured one of these videos recently, but who cares, the man was a beast this season.

Good to hear that Lisandro Lopez is doing so well. I liked him when he played for Racing, and he had a difficult start at Porto, so I’m happy he was so good this season.
Thanks for your interesting blog!
