On the other hand, FC Porto who have been the most visible head and face, of something that became known as simply "The System", something that for years and years assured a certain dominance with all the possible impunity, now just gets away with dropping 6 points. On account of some ridiculous draw against Beira-Bar, 4 years ago... 6 points for years of a lot of merit but also a lot of cheating. It´s ludicrous... Don´t get me wrong. Portugal owes a lot to FC Porto. Their winning the ChampsL in the eighties was superb. Pinto da Costa isn´t also simply just a second hand crook, he´s also a brilliant manager and excelent President. I wish Sporting CP had one like him. And this year was the biggest evidence that FC Porto is a milion light years ahead of all the others (last year though, they won with just 1 point difference to SCP). Also in Portugal refs are always under tremendous scrutiny - everything is permanently questioned and the suspicion climate is tremendous. Consequently the respect towards them goes down and their overall level as well. Some of our refs are good. Others make us wonder whether it´s worse to be corrupt or just plane stupid... Anyway all this stuff with Boavista and FC Porto is just kicking the guy when he is down even harder, while the bad guys go away with the money as if they´re not even there...
