i sure hope chelsea show interest in Quaresma. We need a pacey winger who can add some flavour to the football at the bridge.

In so far as Moutinho, too slight for EPL, Unless he gets picked and stars in Euro 2008 I see another year for him in Lisbon. Bosingwa gone, Veloso gone as well. Not to ManU though. Seems that neither Porto nor Sporting have been fully paid by them yet.

In regards to a couple of items brought up above:

1. I'm still alive, for now: yay!

2. Ceasar's right, Rui Costa's going to be in Benfica's administration and Figo's worse than Roger Clemens when it comes to deciding retirement. Pauleta's another one who wavers, so I'd wait till the end of the season. If the Eiffel Towers aren't in the 1st div, I'm sure Pauleta's ego won't allow him to stay.

3. I obviously agree with Nelson from NYC's assessment of the Quaresma situation, per my guess above.

Ceasar,
He seems like a perfect fit, but Gillette and Hicks will have to pony up the money for the transfer, considering that we have no clue as to what is going to happen with them, I am not that confident.

NYC Nelson

Man I would love to see Quaresma at Liverpool! He would learn so much about how to be a complete team player from the likes of Gerrard and company. Plus he could be the extra little bit that we need to catch the top 3.

Andrew
I believe that yesterday Pauleta said he would only leave PSG before his contracts up if they drop down from 1st division and I he's still got 1 more year left on his contract I think.
Figo's changed his mind again, and is talking about playing one more season which makes me think that there might be something to the Mourinho to Inter rumour.

My man Rui Costa is hanging them up for sure and is going to be Benfica's player director from what I understand.

A least this is what I've been reading and hearing. Maybe Greg or even Pedro may be able to shed more light on the subject. But I suspect Greg may have to lay low for the next little while after what he said about his wife in the other Portuguese blog today. haha

Quaresma, would be well suited for Liverpool and would probably be their first choice right wing for most games, with Babel on the left. Allowing Captain Fantastic to run around the middle of the pitch. Providing service for Torres up front. Now that would be a side. But I think he is going to Real. They will pony up more Euros.

When I read the reports of all those Portuguese players being scouted so heavily by Sir Alex it really makes me wonder...it seems like he bought a winning lottery ticket with Cronaldo, and now he just wants to keep buying more hoping to achieve the same success. Boswinga, Veloso, and J Moutinho are all solid players but like you said I don't think he necessarily needs them (with the possible exception of Boswinga). I don't really mind though because going to Man U would allow for lots of development opportunities and hopefully keep the national team in tip top shape.

This is somewhat related...but any news on Figo and co.'s retirement plans? I'm pretty sure I read that my boy Pauleta is planning on leaving and so is Rui Costa, but I was just curious if you (or anybody) know if the entire Golden Generation will be disbanding...or coming to the US, haha.
