Porto March On, Sporting and Benfica Dominate

By: Greg | March 31st, 2008

domIf you don’t know the drill here, you might as well learn. Mondays mean you get the basic score rundown from the weekend’s action. Since there’s basically one game still to be played, I don’t want to take away from the glory that may await our viewing eyes this evening, so I do a full recap with superlatives and videos on Tuesdays.

Oh, and this guy on the left here is a rapper from Queens, New York called “Domination.” I figured since Benfica and Sporting dominated 4-1 that he should sit in on the proceedings. He also shares a birthday with yours truly, so that’s something. I guess. Hell, I didn’t like what I came up with as far as images depicting “domination” so the rapper wins, okay? See you tomorrow for the full rundown. Kisses ALL AROUND!

V.Guimarães 1 - 0 Marítimo
E. Amadora 3 - 1 Académica
Nacional 2 - 0 Leiria
Braga 0 - 0 Leixões
Belenenses 1 - 2 Porto
Naval 1 - 4 Sporting
Benfica 4 - 1 P.Ferreira
V.Setúbal v. Boavista

Liedson’s actually Brazilian. Not that his country of birth makes a difference (Deco and Pepe are from Brazil, and Nani’s from Cape Verde to name a few). However, usually when you take a flier on a guy and give him a shot, he’s a bit younger than 30. Liedson’s in a weird time fold right now where if Scolari were to bring him in, it would be too late now for the Euro probably as far as team chemistry is concerned and there’s no telling what would happen in the coming 2 years as he ages to 32 for the 2010 World Cup. I wouldn’t be so crazy against it, but can’t see a shock thing like that taking place now with the Euro so close.
