Couceiro Watch: Firing Squad Assembled
By: Greg | July 16th, 2007
Nothing is going on today to get all wacky about… Quaresma looks like he may have another season at Porto while Lucho González is still out on the open market. Benfica are expecting Atletico Madrid to bid for Simão and are preparing to potentially lose their first superstar of the transfer season. Most importantly, the news coming out of Portugal is that someone finally pulled their head out of their ass and is dragging awful, disgraced, vacuous U-20 and U-21 born loser “coach” Jose Couceiro before the firing squad.
According to Antena 1 via the website A BOLA, no talent ass clown Couceiro is being hauled in front of the Federação Portuguesa de Futebol (I’m assuming since you have the intelligence to at least operate a computer that you have enough intelligence to infer what those four words of Portuguese mean) for the horrific performances of the U-21 team at the Euro and the U-20 team’s embarrassment and classless display in crashing out of the World Cup being held in Canada.
At this point, I don’t think even Couceiro’s family thinks he deserves the job. The meeting had better materialize into something more than a dog and pony show slap on the wrist. Anything less than him being removed from the post will be catastrophic for the Portuguese youth program.

hey Greg, do you rate Jorge Fucile? And if so, how much do you think Porto would sell him for?

Maybe Paulo Sousa (former GG, Champs League victor with Juve and Dortmund, back in 96 and 97 – I think) and currently U16 coach will be transfered for the U21 (in pt)… http://www.ojogo.pt/23-146/artigo646392.asp
Anyway, there’s nothing on how exactly will Couceiro be (slowly) tortured to death…

Brian – I like Fucile’s technical ability and versatility in being able to play both sides of the defense. His short stature (5′ 8″) and limited playing time on a major stage are what would bring his price down in my mind. If I had to rate him, I’d put him in the 5-10 million Euro range at this point, probably more towards the 10 given the way the market has gone.

Off topic,
didn’t know that Juve were after F Meira…(pt) http://www.maisfutebol.iol.pt/noticia.php?id=833364&div_id=1492
Apparently, Stutgard wants 10 million and Juve, after wasting all the cash, only want to give 6… Any rumours bout it…?Posted from
